The Juneteenth Foundation, Inc. (“the Foundation”) extends our sincere gratitude for your donations during our 29th Annual Juneteenth Charitable Fundraiser. Your gracious and generous donations helped to provide much needed assistance to several individuals and families in the community.
The foundation is launching its 30th Annual BBQ Cook-Off fundraiser and 3rd Annual Fish Fry fundraiser. Juneteenth Foundation, Inc. will be having our Juneteenth, June 19th federal holiday celebration at the Willie Mae Mitchell Community Center, 715 Valley St, San Marcos, TX 78666 in the historic neighborhood. Our 4th Annual Unity Walk will line up at 8:30 a.m. and start Unity walk at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15th, 2024. The route will start at LBJ/MLK Cross Walk To S Fredericksburg St; On to Valley St and a walk through the BBQ Cookoff Courtyard at the Willie Mae Mitchell Center. Turning right for a walk to 726 Centre Street, ending at the Greater Bethel Baptist Church. Between the Greater Bethel Baptist Church and the Willie Mae Mitchell Community Opportunity Center where there will be various activities at both locations. The celebration will be held for two days starting on Friday, June 14th, 2024 and Saturday, June 15th, 2024. There will be a BBQ, Beverages, Assorted Vendors, Kids fun, Arts and Crafts, Music, Silent Auction, DJ and the talented BBQ Cook-off teams from Youths to Adults. Events will end Saturday around 6:00 p.m.
The 4th annual Fish Fry fundraiser will be held at Willie Mae Mitch Community Opportunity Center, 715 Valley St, San Marcos, TX 78666 on Friday June 7th, 2024. To Go Only!!!
The Charity BBQ Cook-Off will be part of the historical celebration again this year, and continue to help those in need throughout the community. Also, along with other non-profit organizations, we will honor the moment in history for June being Juneteenth month with a reading of the proclamation by a special guest, displays of Cultural Art and the American legal decree issued in 1865 - General announcement of Juneteenth - June 19th, as a federal holiday.
The foundation wants to continue to assist individuals and families in the community who are struggling to keep up with their everyday needs. The foundation is a unique non-profit organization in that it can reach out to people in the community who do not know where to go for help, or even how to ask for help.
